Most people know me as Melissa Tillery, however some know me as Cyaneus, and I respond to either name, so call me whichever you like. I was born on June 2, 1986, which means I am 21 as of writing this, but that changes every year. I have some sort of frenetic muse inside my head that drives me to express myself in any way possible, mostly in art, but sometimes in music or theater or writing. I chiefly play the clarinet, though I also play several other instruments, and I enjoy musical theater. I'm currently in Maryland, majoring in Studio Art and minoring in Theatre at Goucher College. I sing with the college's oldest a cappella group, The Reverend's Rebels.
I'm passionate about nature; I enjoy learning about zoology and observing woods and things that live in them. I've had a modicum of experience with wildlife rehabilitation, which I love. Often, I refuse to wear shoes. I like to read books about ornithology and paleontology. Do not ask me a question about parrots unless you have a lot of time on your hands. I have been volunteering in the Smithsonian National Zoo's free-ranging golden lion tamarin program as a data collector for several years. This year I am volunteering at Dallas Nicholas Elementary School's after school theatre program in Baltimore. I am owned by a five inch tall cockatiel named Enyo.
I am a veteran player of Humans vs Zombies, and my favorite games include Rock Band, Scrabble, The Endless Forest, and Dungeons and Dragons (if you didn't catch the above reference). Some of my favorite things are plastic dinosaurs, fiber optics, and the Oxford comma.
If you'd like to talk to me, my e-mail address is Esmoth-at-Cyaneus-dot-com. I am sometimes on AIM with the screen name Ossifrages, and in general if I haven't got an away message up, I'm free for conversation, so don't be afraid to say hello.
